Born and raised in Monmouth County, New Jersey, Dakeem “Doc” Coleman was destined to return home after a highly dedicated and honorable 24-year United States Navy career. He has always had the hometown mentality and wanted to start a business that would incorporate his love of his home and the military. Doc entered the Navy in 1993 after graduating from Neptune High School. He was a four-year cadet of the Naval Junior Reserves Officer Training Corps and new his future would be intertwined with the Navy from a young age. He attended boot camp in Orlando, FL (decommissioned) and immediately after attended the Nuclear Field Electrician’s Mate Apprenticeship School. NJROTC, boot camp, and his apprenticeship school were the beginning stages of Doc learning to pay attention to detail, perseverance through adversity, and understanding good followership results in good leadership.
Mr. Coleman was hand selected to attend the Navy Law Enforcement Academy in San Antonio, Texas. His experience there provided the skills required to interact with the public in a respectful manner, thinking quickly in stressful situations and the importance of protecting people and property within his jurisdiction. Any company that hires USMM can rest assured that they are dealing with a trust worthy and respectful individual. Since then Doc has spent his entire Navy career working between law enforcement and as an electrician. He’s been stationed on the USS Normandy Cruiser, the USS Emory S. Land Submarine Tender and the USS George Washington Nuclear Carrier. He’s been stationed in Italy, Cuba, Bahrain, and one tour in Afghanistan. Doc has received numerous accolades and awards for going above and beyond his duties. Some of these were two Navy Commendation medals, an Army Commendation medal, three Navy Achievement medals, 8 Good Conduct medals, 2 National Defense medals, 2 North Atlantic Treaty Organization medals (NATO), 1 each Global War on Terrorism/Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary medal, and one Afghanistan Campaign medal.
